Chef Chris Tong prepares a Hawaiian-themed dish during Food Network Magazine weekend at Chicago Botanic Garden

Put on your grass skirt and Hawaiian shirt for delicious tropical food! You will learn how to prepare a Hawaiian-themed dish by Chef Tong during Food Network Magazine weekend at Chicago Botanic Garden’s popular annual Garden Chef Series. Chef Chris will appear on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. in the Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden, Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, Illinois. People who are casual cooks or lovers of gourmet food get to ask questions, discuss preparation, and come away with a fabulous recipe that you can try at home. Chef Tong will give tips on ingredients, and serving. And, everyone gets to have a taste! The Hawaii Tourism Authority will display samples showcasing Hawaiian coffee, tea, cacao, and Macadamia nuts in the Garden’s grape arbor.
