Chef Tong appears at Chicago Botanic Garden during Food Network Magazine Weekend

Chef Christopher Tong of My Private Chef, one of Chicagoland’s most versatile Chefs, will share one of his favorite recipes at Chicago Botanic Garden’s popular annual Garden Chef Series.
He will appear on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. in the Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden, Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, Illinois
The featured plant for September is Joi Choi pac choi, a Chinese cabbage, also known as bok choi. Chef Tong will show how to make a delightful Apple Bok Choi Salad using this delicious variety and other seasonal ingredients from the garden.
Admission to the Chicago Botanic Garden and Garden Chef Series is free.

My Private Chef shares summertime recipe at Green City Market

Join Chef Christopher Tong of My Private Chef for a cooking demonstration at Green City Market. You will learn how to prepare Chef Tong’s delicious recipe, and, of course, be able to taste it on the spot. The demonstration is on Saturday, August 11 at 10:30 a.m.
He will prepare a Watermelon and Summer Tomato Salad with Mint and Chilies.
The Green City Market is located at the south end of Lincoln Park between Clark and Stockton Drive (approximately 1817 N. Clark). The event is free and there is discounted parking ($10) at the Chicago Historical Society parking lot off Stockton Drive. Tickets must be validated.

Chef Tong shares a sweet recipe at 2018 Taste of Chicago

Chef Chrsitopher Tong, of My Private Chef, one of Chicagoland’s most accomplished chefs and a favorite at Taste of Chicago will appear again this year with a fabulous dessert. Chef Tong’s cooking demonstration at the Taste of Chicago is one of My Private Chef’s most popular annual appearances. People who are casual cooks or lovers of gourmet food get to ask questions and discuss preparation. It is a very well attended feature of this annual Chicago summertime fest!
My Private Chef’s demonstration is scheduled for Saturday, July 14 at 12:30 p.m., at the Lifeway Foods Taste Kitchen on the northwest corner of Buckingham Fountain Plaza.

Healthy Menu ideas at Gilda's Club Chicago

The popular appearances of Chef Christopher Tong of My Private Chef continue with some wonderful menu ideas emphasizing healthy eating so essential to Gilda's Club members and their families. People living with cancer know that healthy eating is important for the body and the spirit. The meals are designed to inspire people living with cancer to eat well, serve beautiful food and stay healthy.
Chef Chris will prepare and serve delicious tastes of:
Tunisian Tomato Soup with Lentils and Garbanzo Beans. The dish is filled with cancer fighting ingredients including cooked tomatoes.
The healthy cooking demonstration is on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 6pm at Gilda’s Club Chicago. The club is located at 537 North Wells Street, Chicago.
Gilda’s Club provides a place where men, women and children with cancer, and families and friends, join with others to build social and emotional support in addition to medical care. Gilda’s Club is named in honor of the late comedian Gilda Radner.
My Private Chef has been a strong supporter of Gilda’s Club by providing cooking demonstrations and conversations with Chef Tong.

Chef will serve:- Bagna Cauda-a hot dish similar to fondue from the Piedmont region of Italy. Dates back to the 16th century.

Winter Soups with Chef Tong at Whole Foods Market, Chicago

The cooking class is on the mezzanine level in the on-site cooking classroom at the Whole Foods Market in Lincoln Park, 1550 North Kingsbury, Chicago. It will be held on Tuesday, February 27 from 7:00pm-9:00pm. The cost is $15.00 per person.

More than twenty participants in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood will showcase their sweetest and most delicious wares during the annual Andersonville Dessert Crawl on Sunday, October 29, 2017, from 2-5PM.
