This elegant structure has been a desired location for parties, weddings, and other special events. Chef Christopher Tong has been invited back to the elegant Cheney Mansion to present a spectacular menu for Spring entertaining. Chef Tong will conduct a cooking demonstration in the famous mansion’s kitchen that includes hands-on participation. It will take place on Monday, May 3 from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Cheney Mansion, 220 Euclid Avenue, Oak Park, IL. Located 15 minutes from downtown Chicago. The fee is $70.00 per person. Whole Foods Market welcomes back Executive Chef Christopher Tong of the upscale Chicago-based private gourmet dining service, My Private Chef. He will present a cooking class featuring seasonal ingredients in the on-site classroom at Whole Foods Market Lakeview, 3300 North Ashland Avenue, Chicago. The class is designed to offer hands-on experience and will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 12 noon. The menu features: Chilled asparagus soup with timbale of shrimp, avocado and caviar Pesto marinated salmon fillet baked in parchment paper with seasonal julienne vegetables, shiitake mushrooms, roasted potatoes, lemon and white wine. Fresh seasonal berries with Champagne Sabayon mousse There will be time for questions and answers about shopping, ingredients, and preparation. And, everyone gets a taste! The cost is $25 per person.
